he's quickly becoming one of my favourite drivers

great race though, totally devastated for Sarah, ok, she made a mistake early on but then her car got wrecked later in the race which wasn't her fault and it looks like she's has ran out of cash and won't race at Kentucky, i think it's all over for her

on another forum, i predicted Dixon would win and also that Steady Eddie won finish in the top 5, a succesful prediction both ways

i'm gonna give a shout to Enrique Bernoldi as well, 15th and on the lead lap at only his 3rd ever oval race and his first visit to Indy and in a low budget team, nice job
Bring me my crown

Dixon takes Indy 500 victory

By Matt Beer and Jeff Olson, Sunday 25th May 2008

Scott Dixon has taken his first Indianapolis 500 victory, holding off Vitor Meira, Marco Andretti and Helio Castroneves.

The 2003 IndyCar champion was one of the main contenders throughout the race, and was able to edge away from the chasing pack in the final sprint to the flag after the last pitstops.

"What a day," said Dixon in Victory Lane. "I just can't believe it - I just thought something was going to go wrong.".............

A thoroughly enjoyable race, the whole event turned into a once in a lifetime experience.

From walking into an empty speedway, to blagging it into the drivers briefing, to getting a pitpass, to unexpectedly getting onto the circuit. The whole weekend was wonderful.....

Glad you enjoyed it folks. Its on my list of thing to do as well (when I'm a bit richer). :D

My company has an "On this day..." thing on the website - I suppose to give us something to read when he aren't working. This came up today -

1911 First running of the Indianapolis 500 motor race. Winner is Ray Harroun at an average speed of 74.59 miles per hour

I was going to make a DC joke then thought it might be a bit off topic. But maybe not next year. :P

i really like ej too.first saw him in f3 where he came across as a really nice bloke, very flamboyant, and rattled a few cages with his all out driving style.don't think he has changed any!

he won the the scholarship title but jumped part way through his first season in the main class up to gp2 (where he had his big accident of course).

looks like he is adapting well especially given that it seems a small outfit and he has no team-mate to follow. i'm hopeful the combination of ej viso and watkins glen could see a few more cages being rattled. :D
