No point spending that sort of money if you don't show them off at every opportunity I suppose. :lol)

from pressdog.com

Indy Car driver and Indy 500 champion Dan Wheldon's new smile may come at the cost of his British citizenship, sources close to the matter report.

Sources inside the British embassy in Washington said they as closely studying a recent video in which Wheldon brazenly displays his overhauled smile. The perfect choppers came after some grueling sessions in the dental chair, including a few six-hour stints.

"Obviously, Dan has embraced American dental standards," said a high-ranking British diplomat. "We British have carefully cultivated a culture of, shall we say, 'relaxed' dental standards. If Mr. Wheldon chooses to disregard that, he be headed down a road wherein he eventually loses his U.K. citizenship."

Insiders say the stereotype of British having bad teeth is mostly that, a stereotype. Many people say the reason British may have less-than-perfect smiles is that dentistry is not covered by the national free health care plan.

British dentists who are part of the National Health Service (and therefore charge cheaper prices) often defect to the private sector where they can make many more British pounds. Private British dentists are thought to be out of most people's price range. And orthodontists? Forgettaboutit.

Dan's going for an American "Hollywood Smile" is a worrying sign," said the unnamed diplomat. "If he starts losing his accent and saying 'we have to get it figured out' instead of 'we have to get it sorted,' we may have to revoke his British passport. Let's see him smile his way out of that one."

:lol)
