That is shocking, it looks like something out of that Stallone film Driven several years ago. I am listening to radio coverage and a number of drivers have been interviewed. The all sound very shocked by the incident.

Indycar definitely need to look at pack racing. The worrying thing is the lack of news on Wheldon, hope he is not too bad.

As Will Power was involved it does mean that Dario Franchitti has won his 4th title, but that is obviously not the important thing at the moment.

Race cancelled but IRL drivers and teams have opted to do a 5 lap salute to the memory of Dan Wheldon. Huge tragedy.

R.I.P Dan Wheldon. It was a horror crash. Looking at the onboards there, Will Power is a lucky bugger to even be walking.

I don't do Indy car as you know...but i couldn't pass without saying how truly sad it is that motorsport continues to take lives in such a tragic way. I am sorry for all you peeps who were watching it all too....Dans Twitter feeds last night were quite moving.

Really sad to hear this.

Anyone who has met Dan Wheldon found him to be a really friendly and genuine guy.

Thoughts must be with his family at this time.

That was a truly shocking accident & we lost a fine man & a great driver.

Anthony Davidson put this picture on his twittter feed & I thought it rather poignant

Its little Ant, followed by Dan followed by Jenson
