Roy Salvadori 1922 - 2012

Do you want to post a tribute about your favourite retired drivers, perhaps you want to discuss the rantings of the MIT (men in tweed). They thought they were safer when they retired, perhaps not mumblers!! How about a tribute to those that are not drivers but still in the game?

Roy Salvadori 1922 - 2012

Well that's a bit weird, Carroll Shelby dies and not far behind is his driving partner from the 1959 LeMans win, Roy Salvadori.

Aside from the LeMans win Roy's was a career of "nearlys", but the results were respectable in both F1 and sports cars - we remember drivers who did less.

I'd heard of him okay but always assumed he was dead years ago.

RIP.
