Fantasy F1 Rules 2014 onwards

Team Selection

You have a budget of £430M to buy a team of two drivers, one constructor and one engine. You cannot have more then one selection from the same F1 team. You can mix drivers and constructors from different teams that share an engine supplier. If you pick an engine that is used by multiple teams you may not pick a driver or constructor from any of the teams they supply. Any money left over goes towards your transfer budget for the season.

Scoring

Drivers score as follows:

1st = 25 points
2nd = 18 points
3rd = 15 points
4th = 12 points
5th = 10 points
6th = 8 points
7th = 6 points
8th = 4 points
9th = 2 points
10th = 1 point
Every position a driver finishes higher then their grid position = 2 points
Pole = 5 points
Fastest Lap = 5 points
Double (Pole & Win, Win & Fastest Lap or Pole & Fastest Lap) = bonus 5 points
Triple (Pole, Win and Fastest Lap) = bonus 10 points
Non Finish = -10 points
Disqualification = -20 points

A driver will be classified a finisher if they complete 90% of the race distance.

If a driver starts from the pit lane they will be deemed to have started from their grid position.

If a driver fails to start a race they will be regarded as a non finisher. If a driver is replaced once the race weekend starts, the original driver will be classified as a non finisher but the replacement will be eligible to score chassis and engine points.

Constructors will score the same as their highest scoring driver for each race.

Engines will score the same as their highest scoring constructor (in effect the highest scoring driver using their engine) for each race.

Changes

Between races you can buy and sell drivers, constructors and engines at their current values. You are limited to 8 changes per season.

Forced Changes

If any of the following events occur you will be forced to make a change:

1) It is confirmed one of your drivers will not compete at the next GP.
2) It is confirmed your constructor will not compete at the next GP.
3) It is confirmed your engine will not compete at the next GP.
4) One of your drivers changes team mid season and joins up with your other driver, chassis or engine thereby invalidating your team.

If you do not nominate a replacement for a forced change by the deadline you will be assigned the highest value selection you can afford that is eligible for your team. Forced changes do not count towards your 8 changes for the season.

Deadlines

The deadline for entries/changes will be published time on the official F1 website for the start of the first practice session for each race.

Values

All values are recalculated after every race.

A driver's value is the total number of World Championship points scored in the last 10 races they entered. If a driver's last 10 races include GPs before the current points system was introduced then their value will be the number of points they would have scored had the current system been in place.

A constructor's value is the number of F1 Driver's Championship points scored by drivers driving for them (not necessarilly their current drivers) in the last 10 races.

An engine's value is the total number of F1 Driver's Championship points scored by all constructors currently using that engine in the last 10 races
