No evangelism here Phoenix.... just saying how I found it for me...

I'd never been to Sweden and it was pretty magical at times.... as well as uncomfortable at others....

Each to their own I say....

Very true, WRC has a strong and loyal following and I am not knocking it so much as declaring myself as a non fan. I am happy to hear your first experience was positive. If you enjoyed the tougher conditions than you must be looking forward to experiencing an event in more favorable conditions.

I never understand why people say that, I do not smoke but I still 'knock it' not wishing to try it first, but regarding WRC I am not knocking it. I am simply declaring myself to be a non fan. I am no fan of Nascar or two wheeled motorsport either. I know some people like to experience everything and good on them.

Until you watch a rally live on the stages then (IMHO) you really cannot appreciate it fully (especially as the tv coverage is so poor) in the same way that many people think F1 is dull as ditchwater & until they happen to go to a grand prix & their perception changes somewhat ...

& by the way I did not read any "evangelical overtones " from anyone in the thread ...

(IMHO)

Well indeed, as was mine. Although I would have said that extolling the virtues of WRC to a non fan in the hope to convert him has some evangelical overtones.

I didnt think anyone was trying to convert anyone to anything ...its a motorsports forum, & we were talking about rallying in a rallying thread ....

As opposed to splitting hairs ...

Great artcle Kat however I was surprised at this comment "Once a certain cool Finn goes by it’s time to move on" (although knowing you I should not )

I always thought it was always enjoyable to watch the whole or most of the field & more often they need your help to get a push out of a ditch etc...
