Go East young lady... but not to Malaysia...

Postby LadySnowcat » Fri 26 Mar, 2010 9:12 pm

Right it's not long to go before I head East for a date with a certain person ....

In case you are interested in the itinerary it's here...

http://wrc.com/jsp/index.jsp?lnk=401&se ... lly_id=HKJ

And you should find more info here too....

http://www.jordanrally.com/

Coverage as always on Motors and Dave...

The time zones will make it a little easier than Mexico but not as easy as Sweden... and the GP stuff should fill in between coverage of the real thing...

I have packed sunscreen... hat (of course) ... and mask...for the dust ...in case you were wondering....

Have a good trip, I hope it goes well and you (we) get to see some new names top the stages.

Why thank you Phoenix.. I will do my best...

Actually sitting in a hotel catching up with some work (and mumbling) and having a very nice Greek salad (interesting how wherever you go these days you can get a Caesar salad, Greek salad or MacDonalds...I don't eat the latter and in my experience the former is easier to get horribly wrong than a Greek salad)....

There are some rally drivers at my hotel but unfortunately (for me but probably not for him) not him...

It's lovely and sunny but quite breezy but out on the stages I know it will be hotter than here in the city... although they have moved it a bit and Thursday is in a slightly woody area and Friday may get the Dead sea breezes just leaving Saturday as a scorcher...

I have my hat...

Done a little shopping today (well what is a girl supposed to do) and there is a lot of Chanel, Gucci and Bulgari in the stores here but as it costs about 12-25 Jordanian Dinars you can guess the rest... so labels are out and local is it and I have a few things to remember the Hashemite kingdom by after my return.. although I'd prefer to remember it for reasons connected to the rally we all know, from experience, that sometimes wishes don't come true....

I can honestly say though, that every single trip to a motorsports event I have done has a stand out memory, and whilst not all of them are directly related to the on track action I wouldn't have been there if it wasn't for the race or rally...

Let's hope Jordan is the same....

And it was...

And Kimi was a happy person and I was very very happy too...

So many great things happened that it's difficult to work out what to say but I am doing a guest post for sidepodcast so will pop a link here ....

I am very, very taken with rallying...

I am just catching up with the TV coverage and haven't watched qualy or Sepang race yet.... it's the first race I haven't watched live in years... but absolutely no regrets....

Great result for Kimi, good that you are seeing the joys of rallying, much easier than being in a frozen Welsh forest at midnight watching Roger Clark, Valdegarde etc. seeing only headlights at 100 mph.

This is the Jordan vid from http://www.kimiraikkonen.com ....

It gives a great feel of what it was like...

It's really fun that he does these for each rally....
