A bit of rough in Istanbul...

Postby LadySnowcat » Fri 16 Apr, 2010 7:50 am

That's the situation in Turkey for the rally....

The first stage has already caught out Henning Solberg and Mr Block... apparently a lot of rocks on the track...

Kimi came in 17 secs behind Petter who took 9 mins 30 secs.... he seems to be taking it careful-ish....

Everyone is messing up their tyres although Kimi's looked a lot better than Jari Matti's....

A great day with Kimi getting better and better....

It started with 2 drivers going out on stage 1... Henning Solberg and Ken Block... they both hit the same tree stump...

And Kimi admitted later that he wasn't happy with stage 2 but during the day he started to beat either Wilson or Villagra on each stage and therefore overhauled Wilson to get up to 8th...

He was gradually catching Villagra too especially when, on the final Super Special stage he took 5th place beating Sordo and Mikko Hirvonen...

I can't wait for tomorrow... it starts at 7.56 BST....

Wow...

A fantastic morning for Kimi and an awful one for Jari Matti....

JM rolled on the first stage of the morning SS10 and struggled through to the end... so he dropped behind Kimi....

Kimi also overtook Villagra by just being faster and has consistently been 6th on the stage and is 6th overall even on some very rough stages...

I only wish one thing...

That I was there....

Kimi's next rally is Portugal and I have booked my flights....

Kimi's website has put up the vid of the Turkish rally....

Interestingly it has Kaj, his co-driver, explaining about what they do over the course of the rally week....

I am quite partial to this one... I think you'll see why...
