F1 Live Streaming

Postby Sculptor » Sat 17 Mar, 2012 10:30 am

Hi folks,

For any of you guys that haven't invested in the Murdoch empire, you can view the qualy and race, live online by going to either:

http://myp2p.pe/ - Click on the motorsport tab at the top of the page!
or
http://unsports.me/

Cons first:
It is a live stream so quality HD it is not
Slight time delay
Some adverts

Pros:
Ultimately - you get to see the race live
It's free

I watched the qualy this morning on myp2p.pe, there were 7 different live streams to choose from, so this is my advice for the best you can get from this experience:
1: Open up all live streams so that you can flick between them for un-broken coverage when there is an advert
2: Use the Five-Live, James Allen (yes I know) commentary to listen to the action if that is what you wish to do
3: The five live commentary is virtually no time delay, so choose the live feed that is as close to the commentary as possible. The feed I watched this morning was about 3 seconds slower - Or just simply listen to the live feed or mute.
4: Get your live timing up on http://www.formula1.com, or on your phone or ipad.

It's obviously not an ideal way to watch the action and you could certainly make a good argument for watching the high definition re-run or highlights. But ultimately, when the live action starts, all of the negatives soon fade somewhat as the excitement takes precedent....

Thanks for those links, i'll try them tomorrow. I was watching another link, that started off as Sky and half way through the session, changed to the Irish Setanta Sports feed, with the BBC line up of commentators (Ben Edwards And David Coulthard). So in theory i've heard what they're going to say before the rest of the UK see's it later today

Early impressions are they worked better as a team than the $ky pairing, Crofty sounding very awkward at times...

Just found the actual sky F1 channel (I think), this feed is actually pretty damn good:

I found that one after qualifying unfortunately, but does seem good.

http://www.eplsite.com/f1.html I was watching the feeds from this site, which were not great quality and froze up on a few occasions

I've tried the myp2p site and whatever links i click on at the top, makes no difference as the page stays the same. I'll try that tomorrow if all else fails...

I should of explained better, any link i clicked on at the top, including 'software', etc as well as the links at the bottom of the page, would just load up the same main page.

I will try again though in the morning, if the other links end up being naff.

I used to have to stream all the time when i was living in Italy, as the Italian coverage was 100% Ferrari, no one else mattered, the fact i also couldn't understand it either didn't help...

In those days i had to use software players like Sopcast and would end up with Oriental channels, very rarely i got the American Speed channel. I haven't had to stream for years so have lost touch of where to find the streams etc. All Bernies/Murdochs fault of course. Why should i pay for their sins?

Yeah, I had exactly the same experience as you have described yesterday, but when I loaded the page this morning, it showed the live links to choose from which worked adequately ... But as I said above, the Vipbox is working a treat, I have had the Sky F1 channel on for a few hours now and it hasn't missed a beat! I shall definitely try this one first tomorrow...

HALLE-FRIGGIN-LUJAH

Thought I'd try a weekend of highlights before upgrading my girlfriends sky package and accessing it on Sky Go
So far the experiment hasn't been a success

Watching the highlights of Qualy felt alien plus google news ruined the Q1 result for me

Had the Sky F1 channel on all day yesterday ( http://www.vipbox.tv/watch/32669/1/sky- ... nline.html ), just watched the live race and the feed didn't even flicker. I had the window expanded for my 42" TV and the picture quality was perfectly acceptable, sound quality perfect without any delays or breaks.... Happy days!

I watched the same feed too, a couple of minor breaks, but yeah on the whole pretty much perfect. Certainly saves £30 a month, small price to pay for it not being in HD i guess...
