Richard Burns foundation - Paint it Orange

Postby Kop Alonso » Thu 10 Nov, 2011 10:37 pm

It was 10 years ago Richard Burns won the World Rally Championship - The only English driver to do it .

Here is a short, very emotional film showing highlights of his careeer & also showing his fight against cancer.

I had the pleasure of meeting Richard back in 1993 when he drove a Subaru Legacy in the British Championship, he was a very quiet shy man but the ultimate thinking mans rally driver & total contrast in driving style & personality to Colin McCrae who also is no longer with us .

It was one of the saddest ends to a brilliant career. For race car drivers to die doing what they love, as tragic and unnecessary perhaps that is, there is at least some comfort that they had as the Japanese would say "katai shi [a good death]"
